Dihor Otok, the upcoming snow map in PUBG, has been datamined and contains several interesting landmarks including a space base and a castle.

News about PUBG’s upcoming snow map has been scarce ever since it was announced earlier this year. It’s been heavily speculated that the map will introduce footprints as a new feature so you can track other players, but what about the map itself? It’s expected to be bigger than Sanhok - likely about the same size as Erangel - but other than snow, we didn’t really know what it will contain. Until now.

Reddit user /u/allthenewsisgoodnews posted a video to the official PUBG subreddit showing off a recreation of the map. He makes it clear in the comments that this isn’t 100% representative of what the map will look like when it launches, but there’s a good chance it will be similar as he’s used leaked files and textures to recreate the snowy landscape.

The video starts off with a look at the Cosmodrome, a space base with a rocket still standing. It then moves to an enormous castle, complete with a well in the centre and a number of buildings surrounding it. The camera then moves south, showing a quick fly-by of two cities not too far from one another. There seems to be a number of house clusters dotted about, much like the other maps. While the snowy part of the map is the majority, it seems like there is a large portion that isn’t covered in snow.

The last major landmark the video shows off is the Cement Factory which is a compact area with a lot going on, much like Mylta Power in Erangel. Finally, the camera pans across the entire map, giving us glimpses of a coastal town and the Cosmodrome again, followed by a frozen lake with another town nearby. We still don’t know the exact release date other than “winter 2018” for Dihor Otok, so hopefully we’ll see it soon. Before that though, we’ve got the upcoming PUBG Halloween event - find out all about that here.
