Another quick episode of The Two Professors shows off the Pokemon Meltan and how to evolve it into the hulking Melmetal. Plus, details on how to get it to Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee.

Last month, Pokemon Go players were treated to a tease for an all-new Pokemon coming to the games with the appearance of Meltan directly after community day. This was followed up with the first episode of a series of videos put out by The Pokemon Company called "The Two Professors" that went into a little more detail on the new steel-type Pokemon. Earlier this month, we were treated to the second episode and a teaser video about the Pokemon that alluded to an evolution for it.

During the video, Professor Willow from Pokemon Go has caught several Meltan when Professor Oak calls him again to check in. During their conversation, the Meltan suddenly make some noises and evolve into the Hex Nut Pokemon Melmetal. This Pokemon will be considered Mythical like its pre-evolution, making this the only Mythical Pokemon that evolves.

Considering this is the first appearance of a Pokemon from the 8th generation, players have since found that Meltan would be considered Pokemon 891 in the Pokedex, while the evolution would be 892. Today, a third episode of The Two Professors offered an update and evolved Meltan in to a giant Melmetal. While not massively tall like Onix or Gyarados, Melmetal is more wide in promotional images. The Pokedex entry states it at 8'02" for height, which it sits at 1,763.7 lbs. Forcomparison, Snorlax is 1,014 lbs at 6' 11" tall, making this a pretty huge creature. The closest comparison is Mudsdale at 8'02 (same as Melmetal) and a whopping 2028.3 lbs (which is nearly 250 lbs more).

But how do you get it? Acquiring it would take 400 Meltan Candy. This means you need to get a lot of Meltan, which become available in a special box that will be in the game very soon. In addition, the only way to obtain it currently is in Pokemon Go. This means that if Meltan gets transfered to the GO Park in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu or Let's Go Eevee, it will not be able to evolve. Based on the lore being shown, Meltan evolve while around other Meltan, which is only available in Pokemon Go. But, Melmetal can be transfered to the GO Park after being evolved, making this available in the Let's Go series.

Melmetal has been confirmed to have a special move called Double Iron Bash, which strikes twice and can cause the opponent to flinch. What a powerhouse! The Pokedex entry on the official Pokemon site states "This is the first time that Melmetal has been seen in 3,000 years! In ancient times, this Pokémon was worshiped for its power to create metal."

You probably already know, but this comes as Gen 4 makes its way to Pokemon Go. Check out the details of what to expect.
