In this article we’ll cover how to save your game in Red Dead Redemption 2 so you don’t have to rely on the autosave feature to avoid losing your progress in the game.

How to Save in Red Dead Redemption 2

  • Access the pause menu.
  • Select Story in the pause menu.
  • Select Save Game.
  • Choose the slot you want to save in.

In order to save your game in Red Dead Redemption 2, all you have to do is pause the game, then scroll down to Story in the pause menu. Select Story and you’ll see the option to save your game, load a game, start a new game, or even exit the game. Once you choose Save Game, you’ll be given a choice of slots to save your progress.

Having multiple slots allows you to have multiple save files for the same game. This means you can test out different scenarios and then load a previous save to play through a different way. Having multiple save files allows you to freely experiment, then go back to a previous save file if you decide you don’t like the consequences of your actions.
