The North American scene of the League of Legends Championship series is still running hot. There are some dominate teams out there sweeping week after week as we head into Week 6 of the competition, but the good plays don’t just exist at the highest rung. This amazing play looks squarely in the center of the standings at 100 Thieves who, coming off of a loss to the dominant Echo Fox, took an amazing match against Counter Logic Gaming with plays like the one below.

When things are looking rough, sometimes securing the Baron buff in a timely manner can be a team’s only hope. CLG had the right idea as they entered the pit with all five of the team in tow and almost took it, but 100 Thieves caught on quickly and converged. Just as CLG looked to land the final swing, 100 Thieves Jungler William "Meteos" Hartman swooped in on Jax with a most timely Smite summoner spell, landing the killing blow, some tidy gold, and a devastating buff his team then used to wipe CLG off the map. Thieves Damage Carry Cody Sun landed a triple kill with a barrage of fire from Tristana before being taken out as the rest of the 100 Thieves cleaned up. It was plays like this that led them to an unquestionable victory. Teams live and die by the Baron buff and though CLG were on the brink of taking the game and turning the tide for a possible comeback, they just couldn’t reel it in. Better luck next time.
