Twitch is expanding the reach of their popular convention, announcing that TwitchCon will be heading to Europe in April of next year. Named rather sensibly “TwitchCon Europe”, the convention will be held in Berlin’s CityCube from April 13th to 14th, featuring many of the same elements that TwitchCon is known for. Packed exhibitor expo halls, community and industry panels, meet and greets with some of the biggest streamers in the world, TwitchCon Europe is set to carry the tradition to new lands.

“TwitchCon was created to celebrate and inspire everyone who plays a role in the Twitch community,” Kate Jhaveri, Chief Marketing Officer at Twitch, said in the announcement. “It’s a vibrant, growing, and global community and we’re excited to bring TwitchCon to Europe for the first time.”
Such a large undertaking is likely going to raise a ton of questions from fans wanting to make the trip, so Twitch has set up an FAQ for the event, here, with such questions as:
Q: Europe has a lot of countries! What languages will the content be available in?
A: For our first TwitchCon Europe, we’re tailoring content to be available in English, German, and French. Wherever possible, we’ll make sure that people who speak at least one of those languages can fully enjoy the event through subtitles and live interpreter translations.
Q: Will there be a TwitchCon in North America in 2019?
A: While we haven’t announced the North America version of TwitchCon for 2019 yet, we can assure you that TwitchCon Europe is NOT meant to replace it. *wink wink*
Q: Germany has strict age restrictions for games and gaming events (USK), how will this impact TwitchCon Europe?
A: The event is open to everyone. We’ll be working closely with the German regulator responsible for the classification of video games: USK to make sure we adhere to all the rules in a smooth and efficient manner.
The event promises to be just as excellent as the North American TwitchCon, with additional details including exhibitors, ticket prices, and schedules to be revealed in the months to come.
