The next major update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is launching next week with Operation Absolute Zero, which includes a brand new multiplayer specialist.

Treyarch has released all the details about the next update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 called Operation Absolute Zero. It will launch on December 11 for PS4 players with PC & Xbox One following a week later on December 18. There’s a whole bunch of new updates in Operation Absolute Zero for all three modes; Multiplayer, Blackout, and Zombies, including a brand new specialist and a huge map update for Blackout.

First up is the new specialist, Zero. In multiplayer, she is a “versatile and deadly hacker” who can “disrupt and distract her enemies using the powerful hacking tools at her disposal,” which sounds like she’ll be more of a tactical specialist than outright offensive. She can be unlocked by completing Tier 1 in the Black Market.

In Blackout, Hijacked - the fan favorite map from Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 - will be anchoring near the Construction Site. There’s also a number of “subtle environmental improvements” coming to Nuketown Island, Hydro Dam, and Factory, along with “seasonal changes in foliage and softer winter lighting."

There’s a brand new mechanic coming to Blackout too in the form of the Armor Repair System, which works as it sounds; you’ll be able to repair your armor if it gets damaged. There’s some weapon balancing for the SDM and Spitfire too, along with audio improvements. Also being introduced is the ARAV Armored Vehicle which has a mounted turret on the top.

When it comes to esports, Treyarch have also confirmed that their “sights for competitive play are now set on delivering the full suite of World League Hub features as soon as possible.” The Live Event Viewer launched yesterday to coincide with CWL Vegas, while League Play Events, Gauntlets, and Clans & Teams are all scheduled for “early 2019.”

That’s not all by any means, so make sure you check out the full blog post from Treyarch. In other Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 news, read what Gunless had to say about his new team at CWL Vegas.
