There's no release date for Hytale yet, but you can sign up for the Hytale beta right now and find out more about the game.

Hypixel are one of the most famous Minecraft server networks, offering players over 20 unique minigames to enjoy and compete in. They’ve been around for years and during that time, alongside working on their Minecraft server, the team has been developing Hytale. If you watch the trailer, you’ll instantly think that this is basically Minecraft 2, because well… it kind of is. And that is definitely not a bad thing. The Hytale beta registration is open now, although there’s no release date for the game, and we can’t wait.

Let’s first tackle the obvious question: What IS Hytale? In the latest Hytale FAQ, they describe it as a “high-end blockgame.” Like Minecraft, Hytale procedurally generated and it’s essentially taken all the great aspects from Mojang’s sandbox and made them even better. “Hytale combines the scope of a sandbox with the depth of a roleplaying game, immersing players in a procedurally generated world where teetering towers and deep dungeons promise rich rewards. Hytale supports everything from block-by-block construction to scripting and minigame creation, delivered using easy to use and powerful tools.”

“Hytale supports many different playstyles,” the website goes on. “Whether you think of yourself as a settler, adventurer, or craftsperson, you’ll have plenty to do as you advance through the story. Best of all, the adventure mode is fully playable in co-op: gather a party of friends and combine your skills to leave a mark on the world together. The world of Hytale is host to creatures large and small, from scampering critters to powerful monsters. Each zone features its own unique wildlife, with dangerous creatures standing guard over the most powerful gear in the game.”

To sign up for the Hytale beta, you just need to head here to the Hytale beta sign up page. The Hytale beta release date hasn’t been confirmed though: “We’re eager to get Hytale into hands of the players but we want to make sure we do it at a time that makes sense. We want to be confident that we deliver a first impression worthy of player expectations as well as our own ambitions. Rest assured that we are ramping up production to deliver the game to you as fast as we’re able while also meeting these standards.”

Could Hytale topple Minecraft’s reign as the block-game king? It’s definitely looking promising. In other news from the weekend, Soulja Boy wants to start an esports organisation.
