Another vehicle is coming to Fortnite Battle Royale with the Driftboard, a single player vehicle that can boost past players.

If Shopping Carts, All-Terrain Karts, Quadcrashers, and Stormwing X-4 planes weren’t enough, there’s another new vehicle coming to Fortnite. The Driftboard has been announced via the in-game news splash, and it looks to essentially be a hoverboard. “Hop on board and boost past your competition with this new single player vehicle!” reads the description, which confirms that you can’t somehow get a buddy on your shoulders and ride on one together.

Epic Games has also followed up the in-game announcement with a cryptic tweet, featuring just three emojis. There’s no confirmation on whether this will actually act like a hoverboard or a snowboard, but we’re assuming the former since only a quarter of the map is actually covered in snow. We’re also expecting to see the Driftboard introduced to the game tomorrow, Tuesday December 18, because Epic tends to roll out updates and introduce new items one day after they’re announced. Again, no official confirmation on that but we’ll be surprised if the Driftboard isn’t added to Fortnite tomorrow.

The Fortnite community is seriously split on this new addition though. Earlier today we posted about a new plane exploit discovered by pro player Liquid Chap that allows players to get underneath the map. Introducing new vehicles to the game when existing ones are creating bugs and exploits makes it seem like Epic doesn’t care about the state of the game, instead opting to just introduce new items to bring in more players.

On the Reddit thread about the Driftboard, /u/nickedgar7 got rather angry and commented what the majority of players are thinking: “EPIC FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. JUST MAKE A UPDATE TO FIX STUFF. STOP ADDING STUFF PLEASE. WE ALL LOVE THIS GAME BUT ITS BROKEN AF RN.” /u/Fosteroid on the other hand was much more polite about it, but essentially conveyed the same message.
