In the latest Fortnite patch, there's a new limited time event called 14 Days of Fortnite, along with some heavy nerfs to the Stormwing X-4 plane.

Yesterday, Epic Games announced the upcoming Driftboard vehicle would be added to Fortnite today, but then shortly after, they delayed it due to unforeseen circumstances. The Fortnite 7.10 patch has gone ahead as scheduled though, but unfortunately it’s without any new item or vehicle. Nevertheless, the 14 Days of Fortnite is a series of limited time modes, and there’s been some serious nerfs to the Stormwing X-4 plane.

Kicking things off with the 14 Days of Fortnite, and we’ll be getting a series of flashback limited time modes. “The 14 Days of Fortnite event will feature both new and returning LTMs,” reads the official patch notes. “Large team modes switch every two days and small team modes rotate every 24 hours.”

There’s no confirmation on what LTMs we can expect during this period, but there’s a lot we haven’t seen for a while. We reckon Sneaky Silencers will come back because it’s been a seriously long time since we’ve seen it, and it could be a way to reintroduce the Silenced SMG for a while.

The 14 Days of Fortnite kicks off tomorrow, December 19, at 9am ET.

Fortnite 7.10 Patch Notes - Stormwing X-4 Plane Changes

Since the Stormwing X-4 plane was introduced at the start of Fortnite Season 7, players have complained that it doesn’t have a place in the game and is too powerful. Epic Games is seemingly listening, because they’ve implemented some serious nerfs to the new vehicle in this latest Fortnite patch.

Part of the main Stormwing X-4 mechanics involve boosting through structures and buildings to destroy them and the players inside, but doing this means the Stormwing X-4 will now take 50% more damage. Boosting reduces it by 50%, whereas before, boosting would prevent all impact damage. Also, if you get shot down while you’re in a plane, you’ll now take 50 health damage - like fall damage, it ignores your shield.

Other Bug Fixes & Changes

While the 14 Days of Fortnite and the plane changes are the big ones with this patch, there’s a number of smaller changes too. If you drive over ice while in a ground vehicle, it will now get the same effect as you do when walking. If you manage to land on all four wheels after a vehicle jump though, you no longer take damage which means accomplished stunt drivers don’t suffer a penalty anymore.

With the Zipline, they haven’t implemented an interact key yet, but they have conducted “various Zipline fixes.” These include Zipline animations not playing every time a player jumps while building underneath a Zipline, and players no longer losing the ability to sprint after emoting while on a Zipline. Hopefully we’ll see much less of players flying across the map after using a Zipline now!

That’s not all. There’s more dates for the in-game tournaments, numerous performance, audio, and UI fixes, a bunch of new Creative mode additions… the list does go on. It’s important that we highlight the best change with this patch though:

  • Dab for days with the new emoting power of the Infinite Dab in the lobby!
    • Lasts 10 hours.
