National PUBG League Reveals 2019 North American Tour With $1M Finals Pool

The National PUBG League (NPL) has revealed its schedule and format for 2019's North American events, which will culminate in a championship final with $1 million on the line.

The National PUBG League (NPL), premier PUBG esports league in North America, is gearing up for 2019 with a new year of competition in partnership with OGN. The NPL just announced its schedule and format of events in the coming year and teams will be able to compete for their part in a $1 million prize pool at the end of the season.

The announcement was made in a press release on January 17, 2019. NPL’s 2019 competition will be split into three phases with the first beginning in February. Teams will compete in each phase to gain a spot to represent North America in global events. Ultimately after all phases are finished, a global championship will take place in November where the million dollar pool will be on the line.

There are 16 confirmed organizations fielding teams in NPL 2019, as listed below.

In each Phase there are different types of competition. Regular NPL will pit the pro teams against eachother weekly across five weeks per phase. NPL Contenders will allow up and coming teams to compete for a chance at getting into the running each week for four weeks in each phase. NPL Royale will see the NPL pro teams come up against the NPL Contenders teams in 3 day competitions. Finally NPL Relegation will be a three day event at the end of each phase where teams will fight for final placement going into the next phase.

With $100,000 already awarded for events in 2019, the NPL will feature $200,000 per phase, with $20,000 aside for Contenders and a $80,000 pool in Royale in each phase.

Phase 1 will start on February 1, Phase 2 on May 3, and Phase 3 on September 6. If you want to tune into the main action, it will be streamed via the PlayBattlegrounds Twitch channel. as the action kicks off for the main NPL on Fridays at 5PM PST and Saturdays at 2PM PST.
