The mostly Russian powerhouse are locked into the Grand Finals of the Chongqing Major, and are now just waiting for the result of the Lower Bracket Finals before the main event can kick off.

After a magic run through the Upper Bracket, Virtus.pro are now awaiting the results of just one more match before they can participate in the main event of the Chongqing Major. The Lower Bracket finals will kick off very soon and will determine who will challenge VP for the grand prize of $350,000 and 4,950 Dota Championship Points. Here’s a brief summary of the teams still in the competition.

The final two teams battling for a spot against VP are Team Secret and Evil Geniuses. Both teams made it to the Upper Bracket initially, however Evil Geniuses were knocked down in the first round of the playoffs, when they faced Virtus.pro. From there, EG were able to fight their way through plenty of the top teams in this competition, taking down Thunder Predator, Vici Gaming, EHOME, and PSG.LGD on their miracle run through the Lower Bracket.

By comparison, Team Secret were able to stay in the Upper Bracket for some time, winning the first round against Team Liquid 2-0, before taking down EHOME 2-0 to book a spot in the Upper Bracket finals. There, they faced off against VP and came up short, losing 2-1 to be sent down to the Lower Bracket finals.

Now, the number one seed from Europe will take on the number three seed from North America in a last chance attempt to challenge VP for the title and prizes. You can catch all the action when it kicks off soon at 8pm PT, in the embed below.
