The first pieces of new information on the heavily anticipated Mortal Kombat 11 will be delayed one week, as the Kombat Kast livestream is moved due to inclement weather.

The long-awaited first NetherRealm Studios Kombat Kast for Mortal Kombat 11 will unfortunately be a bit longer of a wait, as the studio has announced a small weather-related delay.

The NetherRealm Studios Twitter account made the delay official, moving the first Kombat Kast from January 31st at 4PM Eastern / 3PM Central to Tuesday, February 5th at the same time:

This Kombat Kast is slated to be the first wave of new news regarding the highly anticipated fighter since its official reveal earlier this month. The subject of this Kombat Kast was teased by NetherRealm community manager Tyler Lansdown during The Reveal, with Kabal implied to be the first new face to be revealed during the livestream.

If you’re wondering what kind of weather could cause such a delay, here’s an hourly forecast for January 31st, the original date of the Kombat Kast, in NetherRealm’s home city of Chicago courtesy of Weather Underground:

You'll note that this forecase says "FEELS LIKE NEGATIVE 48 DEGREES AT 7AM".

When it’s dangerous to go outside let alone travel, we can completely understand if the folks at NetherRealm want to take the day off and come back when the city thaws out. And hey, this just means we get a double dose of MK goodness next week with this announcement of a new Inside Xbox on February 5th:
