100 Thieves owner Nadeshot does not believe that Apex Legends will dethrone Fortnite when it comes to being a top dog in the video game world.

Respawn Entertainment's new battle royale title of Apex Legends has quickly made a name for itself in the video game world and especially the battle royale community, as the title has been at the top of the Twitch viewership charts and has already seen eight million players play since its reveal and release on Monday, February 4th. Due to the sudden rise in popularity of Apex Legends that has seen some of the most popular streamers on Twitch playing the title, many members of the video game industry have begun to ask one question.

Will Apex Legends surpass Fortnite? While some believe that it has the ability and opportunity to do so, Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag, owner of the 100 Thieves esports organization, does not believe Apex Legends will ultimately dethrone Fortnite.

During a recent Twitch stream where he was playing Apex Legends with 100 Thieves content creator Rachel "Valkyrae" Hofsetter, Nadeshot explained why he does not believe Apex Legends will pass Fortnite and Call of Duty in terms of popularity when asked by Valkyrae.

"I think asking that question now is incredibly silly," Nadeshot responded to the initial question. Valkyrae went on to state that Apex Legends looks to be a very polished game for a title that has just been released to where Nadeshot continued to explain that even with its highly polished nature that he still does not believe Apex Legends will take down Fortnite

"Just because it is polished doesn't mean that people interact with the game the same way they do with Fortnite," Nadeshot continued. "I don't think there is any way or possibility that it overtakes Fortnite at all, ever. It'll be a long time before that happens. Fortnite is like in its own world."

Even though Apex Legends has seen a great deal of success in its first few days of being on the market, it would be hard to say for certain that the new battle royale title from Respawn Entertainment will ultimately surpass Fortnite.

Due to Fortnite pushing the boundaries of what a video game can be, such as when approximately 10 million people attended a virtual Marshmellow concert inside of Fortnite just recently, Nadeshot believes that this unique way of players interacting with the Epic Games battle royale game will keep it on top for a very long time.

However, even though he does not believe Apex Legends will pass Fortnite for top dog status on Twitch, YouTube and the battle royale genre, the former professional Call of Duty player turned 100 Thieves owner has shown that he believes Apex Legends is a great deal of fun, and fans of Nadeshot are sure to be seeing him playing the new title a good amount on his Twitch channel.
