How to Keep The Division 2 Beta From Crashing

Ubisoft has advised players on a workaround to keep the Beta for Division 2 going without serious issues.

It would appear The Division 2 beta is off to a bit of an odd start. Ubisoft was apparently aware of some some nasty issues that might cause outright crashes. Fortunately, the Division 2 team has found a temporary, albeit somewhat tedious, solution to the issue for now to keep your game going this weekend. You just have to restart the game every 2 to 3 hours to avoid crashes on all platforms.

The announcement was made via Ubisoft on the official Division 2 website. It seems while these issues don’t have a permanent solution just yet, Ubisoft sought to get ahead of the issue and at least offer players something. Though some issues will require more than a simple fix, there’s at least a couple major problems that can be circumvented.

“We are aware of issues causing players' game client crash on Xbox and PC after an extended gameplay session while PS4 players may experience a performance degradation after 3+ hours of uninterrupted gameplay,” The Division 2 Dev team writes. “To circumvent both issues, we recommend players to restart their game client every two to three hours.”

A further issue happens when The Division 2 Beta is not active on your platform. If you accept an invite to play The Division 2 Beta from outside the game, it will crash on start-up. To this end, the Dev Team advises that players start the game up before accepting game invites.

While a little bit of an eyebrow-raiser, it’s likely better for players to know about it going into the Beta and be prepared. It is a Beta after all. Hopefully this weekend will give players a good taste of what to expect and Ubisoft a solid idea of things to iron out before the actual launch on March 15, 2019 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
