The new battle royale title of Apex Legends has taken the video game industry by storm and shows no sign of slowing down.

Monday, February 11th marked the ending point of the first week that Apex Legends, the new battle royale title from Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment, has been available for players to play. Offering a unique and polished take on the battle royale genre with its three players team-based combat and plenty of exciting and rewarding action, Apex Legends has skyrocketed towards the top of the Twitch viewership charts and has had millions of players experience the newly released title. However, no one was likely expecting to see Apex Legends reach the milestone that it did on February 11th.

Vince Zampella, Respawn Entertainment CEO, took to his Twitter account on February 11th to announce that Apex Legends had reached a player count of 25 million players in its first week of being on the market. This is an incredible statistic considering that the newest game from Respawn Entertainment was released as a member of a genre that the titan of Fortnite had immense control over, but Respawn Entertainment's newest title has quickly shown that it is ready to battle Fortnite for the title of top dog when it comes to battle royale.

Zampella also revealed in his breakdown of the first week of the battle royale title being available for everyone to play that the game reached a peak concurrent player count of over two million players over the course of this past weekend in what is another impressive statistical milestone for the video game industry's hottest new product.

With the likes of shroud and other top Twitch streamers currently streaming Apex Legends as their main game on their Twitch channels and newer players discovering and experiencing everything Apex Legends has to offer every day, it would not be shocking to see Respawn Entertainment and Apex Legends continue to achieve even more impressive player counts in the near future.
