Halfway through week five of the LEC Spring Split and we’ve reached the actual halfway point of the regular season as well. Each of the teams has played all the rest, meaning every match now is a repeat and a chance for revenge. Here’s a brief breakdown of the games from earlier today.
Fnatic – Splyce
Fnatic have had a rough start to this season of the LEC, only managing to find three wins in their nine games. Todays match against Splyce was one of those wins, as the team looks to turn things around and have a better second half of the Split. For Splyce, a 5-4 record isn’t terrible, but it’s only just a passing grade that they’ll need to improve if they want a shot at the title.
Origen – exceL Esports
Origen have also managed to climb to a 5-4 record after a similarly shaky start to the season. That same cannot be said for exceL who have only managed to accumulate 2 wins out of their nine games thus far. Frankly, expectations were higher for Origen given the hype leading up to their return to the competitive scene, however perhaps they can climb now that half the work is done.
Team Vitality – SK Gaming
SK Gaming have dealt a blow to Team Vitality today, claiming victory to bring their personal record to 4-5 overall. Both teams have had some great games so far, and we can only hope that they continue to do so in the weeks to come, especially as Vitality seek to improve their 6-3 record heading to playoffs.
Rogue – Schalke 04
Rogue are still looking for their first win of the season, handing Schalke their 7th win so far. For Rogue, times are looking bleak enough for the organization to revamp the roster completely, bringing in new players in an attempt to stave off an embarrassing zero-win season.
Misfits Gaming – G2 Esports
Misfits have looked pretty good in some of their games but have also struggled in others. On the other hand, G2 Esports are undefeated so far as they tear through the entire LEC. Check out our more detailed breakdown of this match here.
