Fortnite Season 8 has introduced a brand new ping communication system to the battle royale title for players to use.

Thursday, February 28th saw the start of Season 8 for Fortnite Battle Royale take place to the delight of the game's community. A variety of changes were made to the map of the popular battle royale game and a number of items were vaulted thanks to the v8.00 patch notes. Players can use the newly added feature by aiming at an enemy, item, or location and pressing the middle mouse button for PC players. Xbox One and Playstation 4 (PS4) players can utilize the ping system by pressing the left button of the directional pad of their controller. Doing this will place a highly visible marker on your target that can help in marking the position fo an enemy or a valuable piece of loot.

Many battle royale players were excited to see the addition of a ping system with the start of Fortnite Season 8, as the feature has become widely popular thanks to its implementation in Apex Legends, the title currently challenging the Epic Games title for the title of King in the battle royale genre. This, of course, led to individuals on social media to poke fun at Epic Games for adding the ping communication system to Fortnite following the success of the feature in Apex Legends.
