We've seen glimpses of Kano and Cassie Cage in Mortal Kombat 11 for a bit now, but the Kombat Kast showed us an in-depth look at both fighters.

We recently saw Cassie Cage confirmed for Mortal Kombat 11 alongside Erron Black and Jacqui Briggs, and we’ve known about Kano for a while, but the most recent Kombat Kast showed us a more in-depth look at both fighters and their style of gameplay.

Cassie and Kano received a full-on gameplay trailer and breakdown on the March 6, 2019 edition of the Kombat Kast via the NetherRealm Studios Twitch Channel. After a cool new trailer featuring Kano and Cassie Cage, ending with a fresh new finishing move reveal in which… uh… Cassie kicked Kano’s skeleton out of his body through his junk, we received a deeper dive into the Black Dragon cutthroat. Kano is a scoundrel and the team at NetherRealm went out of their way to instill that recklessly dangerous nature into his gameplay style.

Kano’s multiple styles all focus on various parts of his gadgetry and the dirty fighting style that go with them. Between molotov cocktails, throwing knives, eye beams, and command throws, Kano is built to zone, build damage-over-time, limit his foes, and throw caution to the wind on high-risk/high-reward combos. In every timeline form, Kano has a lot of dangerous tools at his disposal that will make any approach against him a gamble.

On the other end of the spectrum, we got to see Cassie Cage’s stylish gunplay, Special Forces tech, and green energy come into play. Cassie brings the brawler style of Johnny and the high-tech style of Sonya back in a cool medium. This time out, Cassie gets to use one of the Special Forces drones to her advantage (similar to Sonya’s Special Forces style in Mortal Kombat X). She also comes packing styles that more readily utilize her dual pistols in her combos to keep her combos going. With green energy inherited from Johnny Cage, Cassie can not only use that energy in moves, but also empower attacks such as strengthening the bullets from her gun attacks. According to NetherRealm, Cassie is meant to be a jack-of-all-trades with a well-rounded set of tools, instead of mastery over one role or another.

Both characters are looking incredibly good and will be welcome addition to the confirmed Mortal Kombat 11 roster. Be sure to check out the full March 6 Kombat Kast to get the full lowdown on both Kano and Cassie for Mortal Kombat 11.
