Respawn Entertainment has made a pretty good game with Apex Legends and the Wingman-nerfing patch recently released for the game aimed to fine-tune it to make it better, but you can’t paint over all the imperfections sometimes. An exploit on the coveted supply ships has been shown to supply an invisible wall for players to take cover against enemies and seems to have made it through the latest patch.
It was on March 5, 2019 that Reddit User C-n0te posted a clip of the supply ship exploit in action on the Apex Legends Subreddit. After chasing an enemy to the back of the ship, the enemy jumps into a little nook in the ship. There is no visible cover to be see from the area, but as the player fires upon the enemy, the bullets stop short of their target, appearing to hit a wall. The enemy manages to heal and seems to peek out enough to take shots at them. It’s almost like the section has the properties of Gibraltar’s Dome Shield ability, but there’s nothing visible to stop the bullets. You can see the clip in action below.
The Loot Ship needs some work. from r/apexlegends
The supply ships in Apex Legends are hot spots to say the least. Heading for an untouched supply ship almost guarantees some good loot, but it also guarantees a fight. Having an invisible wall means that the unprepared will likely waste bullets while foes have a somewhat unfair chance to prepare to fight back. It’s likely Respawn may not have known about this one leading up to the patch as this clip landed one day before, and as of this writing on March 7, 2019, it can be confirmed that the invisible wall on the Supply Ship has survived the recent update to the game. Respawn has made claim in their patch notes that each update is carefully thought out, but this doesn’t feel like one that can last long. We expect as word goes around, a hotfix to the supply ship invisible wall issue may be issued sooner than later.
Meanwhile, pro player and Twitch streamer Michael "shroud" Grzesiek doesn’t think the Wingman nerfs in the recent patch were good enough. Will we see more noticeable tuning to Apex Legends soon? Does the game need it badly? Sound off and let us know.
