When is the date of the 2019 Fortnite World Cup? Epic Games has officially announced the schedule and rules for the Fortnite World Cup Online Opens and Finals.

Ever since Epic Games announced the 2019 Fortnite World Cup as the main attraction of its $100,000,000 esports prize pool, the Fortnite Battle Royale community has been eagerly awaiting to hear any information, such as the start date of the schedule and rules, about how they can compete for a share of the $40,000,000 prize pool that will be up for grabs during the 2019 World Cup. Fortunately, the official schedule start date and rules of the highly anticipated competition have finally been made available, and we have them both covered for you!

When is the 2019 Fortnite World Cup? Online Opens and Finals Schedule Start Date

The schedule of the biggest esports event in the popular battle royale title's life begins on the date of Saturday, April 13th with the first of 10 weekly Online Opens that will each have their own $1,000,000 prize pool. The schedule of the Online Opens will then lead up to the 2019 Fortnite World Cup Finals date in New York City that will be held on July 26th to the 28th where the highest ranked players from each schedule of the weekly Online Opens will secure a spot in the $30,000,000 Finals. 

The 2019 Fortnite World Cup Online Opens that will determine the participants of the New York City Finals will consist of three phases for each weekly schedule date. Arena Mode will be an always-online in-game tournament event that will be added in the v8.20 update. This is where players can compete in order to secure a spot in the Semi-Finals that will be held on a Saturday date.

A three-hour window schedule where a maximum of ten games can be played for each player will then determine the top 3,000 players for each region that will qualify for the Fortnite World Cup Online Opens Finals that will occur on a Sunday date. A similar three-hour schedule and ten match format will then be used to determine the top players who will secure a share of the 2019 Fortnite World Cup Online Opens $1,000,000 prize pool for that particular week. 

2019 Fortnite World Cup Rules

In order to be eligible to compete in the date of the 2019 Fortnite World Cup Online Opens and Finals, players must be at least 13-years-old, have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled and must have their account be in good standing and at the level of 15. Players will earn points to rise through the standings of the Online Opens schedule date through the official scoring format for the competition that can be found below.

Both solo and duos players will have a limited amount of opportunities from the rules to secure one of the highly coveted spots in the Finals of the $30,000,000 event in New York City in July. With a total of $40,000,000 that every single Fortnite player in the world will be eligible to compete for beginning with the Online Opens on the date of April 13th and concluding with the Finals on July 26th to the 28th, the 2019 World Cup is ready to take over the esports world with its schedule and rules in the next few months.
