As we prepare for Samurai Shodown to launch in the Summer of 2019, here's a list of everyone that you can expect to see in the roster so far.

The Samurai Shodown reboot is shaping up to look ridiculously good. SNK has brought back much of the original game’s classic roster and given everything about that original aesthetic a stylish new veneer. Trailers have shown us quite a few things the game has to offer, but the important question is “who’s playable?” As we wait for its launch in Summer 2019, we’ve compiled a list of all confirmed characters in the Samurai Showdown reboot so far. You can see the PAX East featuring many of these characters below.

Samurai Showdown Confirmed Characters

  • Haohmaru
  • Genjuro
  • Ukyo Tachibana
  • Nakoruru
  • Earthquake
  • Hanzo Hattori
  • Galford
  • Jubei Yagyu
  • Kyoshiro Senryo
  • Tam Tam
  • Charlotte Christine Colde
  • Yoshitora Tokugawa (Samurai Shodown V)
  • Shiki (Samurai Shodown 64)
  • Darli Dagger (New Character)
  • Wu-Ruixiang (New Character)
  • Yashamaru Kurama (New Character)
  • Rimururu (Season Pass)
  • Basara (Season Pass)
  • Kazuki Kazama (Season Pass)
  • Wan-Fu (Season Pass)

According to an article by WCCFTech, we are set to receive 16 characters in the beginning roster with 13 returning characters and 3 all-new fighters, with DLC also confirmed. Notable exemptions from the list so far include Gen-an Shiranui, Wan Fu (since revealed in the Season Pass), and Shiro Tokisada Amakusa, who are the only 3 characters from the original roster to not show up in trailers or screens so far. With the roster almost entirely filled out already based on info released, it’s likely one or more of these characters may be held back as DLC.

Shiki from Samurai Shodown 64 made a surprising appearance in the starting roster. It will be interesting to see who else SNK draws from their extensive backlog.
