While everyone else is giving their fans the runaround with fake announcements on April Fools Day, the fine folks at Ubisoft behind Rainbow Six Siege are bringing Magic to their hit competitive shooter. Just don't get to griefing on this day of jest, because their new reverse friendly fire will cool you right down.

A Collection of Magic
The Rainbow is Magic event will include a fresh playlist, with a new magically adorable map and game-type. Also included in the whimsical festivities are four new shockingly cute operator outfits.
Logging in starting April 1st will give you a free Rainbow is Magic item pack, and playing during the course of the event will give you more chances to unlock the magical character customizations for Blackbeard, Tachanka, Smoke, and Montagne.
The official Rainbow is Magic Collection will stick around for a little while after the in-game event goes away, but will only be available until April 15th.
Fool's Challenge
In the new playlist Fool's Challenge, climb aboard the Rainbow Unicorn Airways commercial airliner and rescue Mr. Teddy Bear with a group of friends. The Fairytale kids-room playlist will only be around until April 8th though, so crack open that toy-chest while you still can.
This sparkly new playlist will feature the four main operators from the Rainbow is Magic events. With Blackbeard and Montagne as attackers, and Smoke and Tachanka as defenders. Another nine operators join in as Toy Soldiers and include Ash, Thermite, Sledge, Castle, Thatcher, Frost, Bandit, and the Recruit.
Even though it was announced and launched today, this is not an April Fools joke. Rather, it seems that Ubisoft and the Rainbow Six team is embracing the magic of the faux-holiday. Fans are on board too, as is evident by the overload of the Rainbow Six servers this morning. As of writing this (11:50 am PST), the Rainbow Six Support channel has yet to confirm the server issue to be resolved.
We're aware of the issues affecting connectivity in Rainbow Six Siege and are working towards resolving this ASAP: https://t.co/CKYUGQdfsX
