A new update has arrived that will allow PlayStation 4 (PS4) players to change their network (PSN) name in what is a very welcomed ability.

While the video game platforms of Xbox One and Steam have allowed players to change their online names associated with their platforms, PlayStation 4 (PS4) players have been unable to change their Network (PSN) name and have been stuck with the first one they made. However, Wednesday, April 10th saw this frustrating fact be changed, as the Sony gaming platform announced that PS4 players will soon have the ability to change their PS4 Network or PSN name to a new one.

The first alteration of a PlayStation 4 player's Network name for use on their PS4 console will be free of charge. Unfortunately, each of the changes for the PSN tag following the first one will cost an individual $9.99. Plus members will get a discounted price of $4.99 for each of their changes following the first.

There are no restrictions on how many times a player can change their PSN name on their PS4 or web browser, and individuals can revert back to their original PlayStation Network tag if they wish.

This PSN name change update for the PS4 is currently not live yet and will be available for PlayStation players in the United States by today. The Network changing feature is scheduled to be available for the rest of the world by Thursday, April 11th.
