The incredible careers of Bjergsen and Doublelift are long from being over, but will collide in grand fashion on the mainstage during the 2019 LCS Spring Split Finals.

This weekend will see the 2019 LCS Spring Champions crowned, but there is another story in on the rift that may outweigh that competition. The prowess of two major figures in North American League of Legends continues to pull major headlines heading into the Grand Finals in St. Louis. Ignore the pending war between TSM and Team Liquid for a second, and take a look at history in the making.

TSM’s Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg came over from the EU years ago to take a new-look TSM to the next step, and he did just that. In his five years since joining Team SoloMid, Bjergsen has led multiple different builds of the TSM squad to North American Championships.

"On his bad day, he's still better than eight out of ten mid-laners in the LCS," - Doublelift, Team Liquid

Just this year, Bjergsen played in his 100th LCS playoff game, which is no feat to ignore. Heading into the Grand Finals in St. Louis, Bjergsen has already tallied 5 Championship trophies but has failed to see much success in International tournaments.

Across the stage will be Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, the most prolific and skilled AD-Carry in North American League of Legends history. Throughout his career, Doublelift has seen success on Counter-Logic Gaming, the very same TSM as Bjergsen, and now with Team Liquid. Part of the TL success recently comes very much due to them building a stellar team around their star bot-laner.

"I knew that if I made it to the finals, Doublelift was going to be the guy on the other side of the stage," - Bjergsen, TSM

In must-read headlines, Doublelift is also on the brink of winning his 6th LCS Championship as well. The former teammates will both be playing for their 6th trophy on-stage in St. Louis and even though they have stated that their minds aren’t set on their personal glory on the line. The world of League of Legends, however, is stuck on the Doublelift versus Bjergsen Grand Finals.

Though Doublelift is known to many as being a grand trash talker, it has been nothing but respect between the two leading into this weekend’s head-to-head. Not that this weekend will ultimately define either career. It’s a moment in LoL Esports that will live on for a long time.

Regardless of the teams on their sweaters, the winner of tomorrow's match between Doublelift and Bjergsen will make one of them the winningest player in LCS history.

It’s the Magic Johnson versus Larry Bird conversation. It’s Ovie versus Sid the Kid. It’s Manning versus Brady. No matter the competition, moments like these are never forgotten. Generations of Esports fans to come will speak of the moment in their lives when they saw two of the best playing each other on-stage.

The TSM vs Team Liquid matchup has a lot of hype, but none of it seems larger than this battle for more glory between Bjergsen and Doublelift. Who will leave St. Louis marked as the greatest of all time?
