We’re only a few days away from the start of the Play-In Stage at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational now and the hype train has finally blown its whistle and called for boarding. Today, League of Legends released a new trailer for the gigantic international tournament.
The trailer shows stacks of computer towers and monitors (powered somehow) in piles at the foot of the MSI trophy podium. The competition heats up and the golden statue melts to a liquid state -- a nod to a very powerful North American representative Team Liquid? Probably not -- and pours out over keyboards and computers. All the while, those monitors splayed amongst the mountain of hardware display clips of winning teams celebrating during the trophy ceremony from previous Mid-Season Invitationals.
“Can you hold the weight? The hopes and dreams of a nation?” - Narrator.
Both the Mid-Season Invitational and the League of Legends World Championship are very much tournaments where country and region representation matters. Pitting the best teams from all over the world gives League of Legends fans two major tournaments where international glory is the prime goal.
It shows in the overall support for regional representatives by other teams from those regions.
Is that golden liquid spilling on the keyboard?@TeamLiquidLoL you've got this. @C9Svenskeren has your back ? #TLWIN

“For when you raise the trophy, we rise with you.” continues the trailer’s narrator, speaking on the champions of MSI carrying their region to that glory. Which is very true. The term “Represent” has been a long-standing motto and catch-phrase for the Mid-Season tournament since its inception.
The Play-In stage at the Mid-Season Invitational begins on May 1st, 2019, live from Vietnam. While the in-game MSI 2019 celebration starts on April 30th.
Who do you think will win 2019’s MSI?
