There was a lot of excitement and even some controversy on Day 2 of the Call of Duty World League London Major. Now that it’s behind us, we have actual look at what Finals Day is going to bring on Sunday, May 5th.
Starting very early in the morning (Pacific Time), the Finals Day at CWL London will begin with the losers bracket semifinals. After that, the winners bracket finals will decide who moves onto the Grand Finals, and who moves into the losers finals for one last shot at punching a ticket to the big dance.
Losers Bracket
Fighting to make their way out of the losers bracket, still alive at CWL London, are the Call of Duty teams from Heretics, EUnited, Gen.G, and Team Envy.
All four of these teams look extremely lethal, and any of them could give whoever they face in the finals a run for their money. An especially killer squad, Team Envy, even managed to eliminate Luminosity Gaming who won the previous Call of Duty World League Major.
The winner of the losers bracket round 5 will go on to face whoever loses the winners bracket finals.
Winners Bracket
Flipping over to the winners side of the field, things look pretty traditional. Through outstanding play, even in the face of near elimination, the squads from 100 Thieves and the storied OpTic Gaming will play in the winners bracket finals.
Whichever team wins this match, will get a one-way ticket to the Grand Finals on Sunday evening. The loser will get knocked into the losers bracket finals and will have one more chance at earning a ticket to the Grand Finals.
Between OpTic and 100 Thieves, it’s a pretty tough decision as to which squad is the favorite. However, after their smash of powerful Heretic, the Scump-led OpTic Gaming is on a real roll.
