It’s been a while since we talked about Dauntless at Twin Galaxies, but the game has only grown since we spoke to its creators last year at PAX South and the Beta launched later in 2018. Now Phoenix Labs is bringing their co-op monster-hunting experience to further players. It’s set to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and the Epic Games Store and will be coming fast on May 21, 2019.
Phoenix Labs made the console and Epic Games Store launch announcement on May 13, 2019 via the Dauntless Website and Twitter. The game has achieved over 3 million players on PC already and offers a ton of opportunities to any console players who want to get in on the hunt. Coming up on Season 5, a new Hunt Pass will launch with the new platform releases and offer players 50 level of cosmetics and more to unlock as the Dauntless world takes on a new theme for its Moon Blossom Festival event.

Various new improvements are also coming to Dauntless. The PC version recently received updates that bring skills, achievements, Behemoth Mastery cards, and further engaging rewards to the game, but a new campaign overhaul, end-of-hunt stat screens and other improvements are also coming down the pipeline. Dauntless has always been a solid alternative to the likes of Monster Hunter that has constantly evolved to become its own amazing thing on PC - A great co-op melee experience on a vibrant world brimming with different Behemoths. It’s great to see that console players will now have the opportunity to see what this game is about. Fortunately, console players won’t have to feel left out of the great community that the PC platform has already built. Phoenix Labs has already confirmed that crossplay between consoles and PC is in the works.
