The Pokemon Press Conference brought some interesting announcements from the world of Pokemon, and we have the best Twitter reactions to the news.

The first of two major Pokemon-related presentations, the 2019 Pokemon Press Conference, aired on Twitch late Tuesday night, and the social media scene was buzzing with every announcement. From more Detective Pikachu to playing Pokemon in your sleep, there was a lot for the community to absorb... and they did so with hot takes on Twitter. Here are some of the best.

To say the mood was tense going into the show would be an understatement:

The event began with a brief mention of the Detective Pikachu movie, including a visit from the Managing Director of Toho, Hiro Matsuoka. Matsuoka went a bit rogue and touted another Toho project, the new Godzilla: King of the Monsters coming this weekend, which got Twitter all riled up:

Detective Pikachu’s upcoming port to the Nintendo Switch delighted many on Twitter:

The unveiling of a new Pokemon Center in Shanghai as well as the announcement of a new Nintendo store in Tokyo garnered a few reactions:

The appearance of Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda made some heads turn:

Next was Pokemon Home, the next evolution in the Pokemon Bank service allowing Pokemon to be transferred between games. The Twitter faithful were quite excited about the idea

The press conference took a bit of a turn when Pokemon Sleep, The Pokemon Company’s new game designed to turn “sleeping into entertainment,” was unveiled:

Next was a new accessory designed to bring Pokemon Sleep’s data to other Pokemon games, Pokemon Go Plus +. The reactions to the device’s name did not disappoint:

The final announcement was Pokemon Masters, a brand new game from mobile developer DeNA. While the brief look at gameplay was appreciated, one minor detail really set Twitter off:

The press conference ended, and the Pokemon faithful now had to sleep (tee hee) on the news until the next major presentation focusing on Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield next week. What news will that bring? We’ll have to wait and see.
