This week marked the launch of the new Overwatch League event, "Skins in the Game." To celebrate, many Overwatch League Teams are hosting skin giveaways across social media to help promote the event.
The event itself is an interesting way to promote the League within Overwatch itself, prompting players to wear the team-based Overwatch League skins when playing Competitive or Quick Play modes in the game, or by tweeting #MyOWLTeam on Twitter along with their favorite team’s Twitter account. Whichever team has the most points by the end of the competition June 3rd will get to take over the Overwatch League’s Instagram account and bragging rights.
Want to see what the team does behind the scenes on game day? Help #SeoulDynasty win @overwatchleague's Instagram takeover! From May 27-31 we'll earn 1 point if you:

The catch that many players are facing is that the Overwatch League skins can’t be bought with Overwatch's typical in-game currency, coins. Instead, they are purchased with OWL Tokens, which can only be bought with actual money or earned by watching Overwatch League Broadcasts on Twitch. If you were to purchase an Overwatch League team skin with real money, you would be spending approximately $5 USD per character per team skin (which, thankfully comes with both home and away variations). That’s a lot of dough to throw to make sure you’re able to represent your favorite team.
However, most teams in the Overwatch League are currently running contests to give away skins to players. We’ve compiled an easy list for you along with the contest end dates, so you can enter them as quickly as possible.
- Atlanta Reign (Ends 5/31)
- Dallas Fuel (Ends 5/31)
- Guangzhou Charge (Ends 5/29)
- Toronto Defiant (Ends 5/31)
- Washington Justice (Ends 5/31)
Some players are also getting in on the action, so make sure to check out your favorite's social accounts.
- Benjamin "uNKOE" Chevasson (Ends 5/31)
Wondering how your team is performing? Overwatch League released the Top 10 teams following Day One of the contest on Twitter. Those in the know will not be surprised to see Seoul taking the top spot, thanks to their sleek black and gold color palette, along with fan-favorite players like Jehong "Ryujehong" Ryu.
