In Dauntless, equipped Cells on your weapons and gear truly make your playstyle unique and can mean the different between victory and defeat. Here's how to farm cells efficiently.

There are plenty of ways in Dauntless to power up your character between choosing the weapon that suits you, leveling up your Hunter Rank, using Orbs to level-up gear, and more. That said, one of the most immediate ways to give yourself an edge is through equipping Cells to your gear, but getting the right Cell can be done in many ways. Here’s how to farm them fast and power yourself up even further.

The average way to get Cells is through completing quests and collecting Cell Cores. Between Hunts, you can take whatever Cell Cores you’ve obtained to the Core Smashers located all over Ramsgate and see what kind of Cells they have for you. Bronze Cores provide Uncommon Cells, but higher tiers like Silver and Gold will guaranteed you something more powerful. Not only that, but if you have a surplus of Cells, that’s where the Middleman comes into play.

The Middleman is your one-stop shop for all things Cells, whether you're buying fast tracks to more or simply fusing them for free.

The Middleman is a quest and service vending NPC in Ramsgate whose purpose is entirely based around Cells. You can buy Cells outright from him by use of rare Aetherdust currency or Platinum (A premium currency that can be bought with real money). Each week he’ll have a fresh batch of three new Cells for sale. More than that, the Middleman allows you to also utilize his potentially free service of combining Cells. In one slot, you can give him extra Cells and he will combine them based on the rarity of Cells you supplied. Unommon cells will take 24 hours, Rare Cells will take 48 hours, and Epic and beyond takes 72 hours, after which you can come back and collect the reward.

You can speed up this process in two ways, both of which require grinding or monetary purchases. The first is by using Ace Chips. Each Ace Chip will knock one hour of time. You can earn Ace Chips through some quests and Hunt Pass Ranks or buy them outright via Platinum. Alternatively, you can speed up your rate of Cell farming by purchasing two extra slots (500 Platinum or $10 each) from the Middleman in which to fuse Cells. Once you buy these two slots, you permanently own them, meaning you can slot three Cell fusions in per day instead of one forevermore.

Ace Chips and Platinum are what you'll need in order to speed up your process of Cell farming exponentially.

Given that one slot for Cell fusions is free to use from the outset, you don’t have to spend any money if you don’t want to. It’s just as easy to throw some Cells in the Middleman’s free fusion slot and go about your regular activity. The speed at which you can fuse and farm Cells is really only dependent upon how much money you want to throw at Dauntless, though the permanent two extra slots is easily the best deal of the bunch if you want to increase your Cell power quicker.
