It looks like Shacknews is once again adding to the competitive gaming events at E3 2019 with the return of their Champions League event.

Last year at E3 and QuakeCon 2018, Shacknews offered up thousands of dollars to would-be competitive gamers looking to prove themselves in its first World Championship gaming event. It appears they’re keeping it alive in 2019 with the announcement of a new Shacknews Champions League event at E3 with a prize pool of $10,000, live music and more.

Announced on June 4, 2019 by Shacknews CEO Asif Khan, the Shacknews Champions League is a competition for older gamers looking to prove they still have skills on the pads and sticks. Open to participants 30 years of age or older, the Champs League challenges players to sign up and compete in gauntlet of games on Tuesday, June 11 at 6:00PM PST at The Mayan in LA.

Games will run the gamut of history from classics to new competitive favorites. You can see a list of the planned games and lay out below.

Round of 64 - Mortal Kombat 2

Round of 32 - Power Stone

Round of 16 - Rocket League

Round of 8 - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Semifinal - Doom 2016 Score Attack

Final - Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 1v1

The champion of the event will walk away with $6,000 dollars, while second and third place winners will take home $3,000 and $1,000 respectively. Those who want to attend but not play can also secure a ticket to the event via an Eventbrite page for the Shacknews Champions League E3 Afterparty. After 9PM walk-up entry will also be accepted if the venue isn’t already at capacity. Musical talents Blau, Vicetone, and Marc Rebillet will also be on deck to provide entertainment for the evening. Look for all of the action to be streamed on the Shacknews Twitch channel and see who achieves gaming greatness.

With $10,000 on the line, are you good enough to do it for Shacknews? If you’re over 30 years of age, in LA at the time, and want a chance at that prize pool, be sure to sign up on the Google Form soon.
