Xbox Project Scarlett Specs and Release Date Window Revealed

The next-generation Xbox console of Project Scarlett was revealed at E3 2019, and the first specs and release date window for the new device were also announced to the public.

There were plenty of high-profile announcements and reveals that took place during the Microsoft E3 2019 press conference. While many of these major announcements were focused on a plethora of titles that players can look forward to playing on their Xbox One consoles in the future, the last reveal to come out of the Microsoft E3 2019 press conference was by far the biggest one. This announcement consisted of Microsoft officially revealing its next-generation Xbox console of Project Scarlett and the first details regarding its specs and release date.

Xbox Project Scarlett Release Date

While an exact release date was not announced during the Microsoft E3 2019 press conference, a release date window was shown off to all of the viewers of the presentation. Individuals who are wanting to get their hands on the powerful specs that Project Scarlett will be using to deliver its next-generation gaming experience will be able to do so during the 2020 Holiday season. This release date window for the Xbox Project Scarlett console is not surprising, as a holiday release date window is the traditional time that brand new consoles are released to the market to allow the community to purchase them for their loved ones. 

It was also announced that Project Scarlett will launch with Halo Infinite, the latest entry in the legendary Halo franchise, on its release date. 

Xbox Project Scarlett Specs

The Microsoft E3 2019 press conference also showed off some of the specs of the new Xbox device that will be powering the console's ability to deliver a truly next-generation gaming experience to players. These specs for Xbox Project Scarlett that were revealed during the Microsoft E3 2019 press conference consist of the following:

  • Capable of 120 Frames Per Second (FPS), Native 4K and 8K Resolution
  • New AMD Processor
  • Next-Gen Solid State Drive (SSD) that is 40x more powerful than current generation consoles
  • Backward Compatibility Enabled
  • Large Reduction in Loading Times
  • Hardware Accelerated Ray Tracing
