"If at first you don't succeed... die, die again."

From the makers of the Dishonored franchise comes a new game that seems to pit one single player experience against another. Today, during the Bethesda E3 Showcase, Arkane Lyon revealed DeathLoop.

One character enjoys the cycle, while the other wants out. Two humans in a weird open-world dystopian land that includes sprawling fields and cyberpunk cities, destined to continuously hunt one another down and repeat the same horrifying groundhog’s day scenario.

"DEATHLOOP transports players to the lawless island of Blackreef in an eternal struggle between two extraordinary assassins. Explore stunning environments and meticulously designed levels in an immersive gameplay experience that lets you approach every situation any way you like. Hunt down targets all over the island in an effort to put an end to the cycle once and for all, and remember, if at first you don’t succeed… die, die again."

Not much was shown in the CG-based trailer for the new ip and very little was actually said on-stage by either of the developers from Arkane. In fact, not much was said at all besides how “f***ing cool” this game is going to be.

The pedigree of the Arkane Lyon studio, with the exceptionally beloved Dishonored franchise proving that unique stealth fps games are viable in the 21st century, we’re excited to see where DeathLoop goes.
