Do you guys have Battletoads? Don't worry, we've got all the Battletoads you can handle! After Microsoft revealed a new Battletoads game is coming out in 2019, we thought it would be a great time to take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of TG's most incredible Battletoads record tracks!
Battletoads - NES
What better place to start than with the original? Battletoads for the NES was every kid's first lesson that the world is hard and doesn't care about you, especially if you're riding a speeder bike. These folks didn't let the Turbo Tunnel (and the rest of the game, really) get them down, though! With a whopping 21 total records, here are just a few gems of TG's NES Battletoads leaderboards:
NTSC - Points
12 Individuals have maxed out the original Battletoads' score counter and submitted a score of 999,999. Shout outs to the following folks for their incredible runs:

Extreme - 1 Life Only - High Score
But Mr. Tesi wasn't done yet! Paul tops another absoultely ridiculous track - Extreme rules, one life. Paul managed to duplicate his max score, 999,999, on this track, far surpassing his other challengers.
Special shout outs to Phillip Ballenger, Patrick John Fenton Jr., and Joe Jackmovich who also occupy the leaderboard of this outrageous category.
Battletoads - Sega Genesis/ Sega Mega Drive
For many, it was the Genesis version of Battletoads that kept them awake at night. While not as widely played as its NES counterpart, there are still a solid showing of max scores for Battletoads on Genesis/Mega Drive. 3 folks - Mark Cox, Phillip Ballenger, and Fred Bugmann - achieved the current high score of 999,990. Ballenger also owns the record for fastest completion, clocking in at just over 52 minutes. Ballenger's high score run is below:
Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team - SNES
This one's a personal favorite, as it was my first interaction with Battletoads of any kind. Yes, my poor, unfortunate 5-year-old self got massacred for days on the first boss before I eventually had to return the game to Blockbuster (remember those, kids?) Maybe one day I'll go back and get my sweet revenge. Until then, let's check out some people who are way better at the game than me.
NTSC - Points
Points and speed are what we strive for at TG, and one individual - Patrick DiCaesare - owns the top spot on both tracks for Battletoads & Double Dragon, with 1,553,250 points and 22:25.0 completion time, respectvely. Shout out to James Sorge who occupies the second spot in the points track.
