Nintendo Extends an Invitation to the Arms US & Canada Online Open

A surprise announcement of an online tournament that players can jump right into today

Nintendo have used their Nintendo Direct broadcast to announce a brand new online tournament for fans of Arms on the Nintendo Switch. Fans who live in the US or Canada have the opportunity to compete in the Arms US & Canada Online Open, starting from today. Players must complete at least 50 ranked matches during the qualifier period from March 8th to March 18th, and based on their results from this period, 8 finalists and 4 alternates will be selected to participate in the Finals, to be held on the 31st of March.

The finals event will be streamed live from the Nintendo of America headquarters, and will be available to view on their official site. All finalists will receive a custom piece of artwork from the Arms development team.

In addition to the announcement of the online tournament, Nintendo also revealed that starting on March 31st, owners of the Nintendo Switch will be able to download the Global Testpunch, allowing them to try selected game modes for free.
