It's been a rough road for the 100 Thieves League of Legends team in 2019, but they finally notched a win in the Summer Split!

It has been a pretty great day for League of Legends fans in North America so far. Day 2 of the third week of matches in the LCS 2019 Summer Split was jam-packed with high-tier intense matchups. Best of which was the winless 100 Thieves securing their first dub much to the chagrin of Echo Fox.

They’ve been trying to figure it out all year. Prior to the start of the Spring Split, some hard roster moves were made, but the 100 Thieves squad still wound up in last place in the end. So, before 2019 Summer Split begun, more moves were made. Through the first two weeks, however, no wins were found and this left 100T scrambling for answers.

Heading into this weekend, 100 Thieves could be seen messing about with their line-up. Two Academy play days on Thursday and Friday saw the team mixing things up a bit trying desperately to find a better fit than what they were sending out onto the LCS stage thus far.

When it came time to decide the starting roster for the LCS matches on the weekend, 100 Thieves went with Academy players FakeGod and Ryu in the top and bottom lanes respectively, and so far it looks like it might pay off in the long run. Sure, they lost yesterday (Saturday) against an extremely powerful Golden Guardians, but their luck changed today.

“This was the line-up that did the best in practice,” said 100 Thieves’ jungler Amazing in a post-game interview.

Though their opponent wasn’t one that would strike fear in anyone, the ability to clutch things out and pull together a win despite the draft being stacked slightly against them is a very good sign for 100 Thieves.

Only three weeks in the books, 100 Thieves is in a two-way tie for last place. This means there’s a ton of room to climb upwards. As of the time of publishing, they are only 2 wins behind the 6th place team (the final playoff spot) and could end Sunday in a three-way tie with Echo Fox and FlyQuest.

Will 100 Thieves stick with this line-up for next week? Will this win against Echo Fox be the beginning of a winning trend for the young organization? We will have to wait to find out.
