Team Liquid Cements #1 Spot With Victory Over Astralis

Collecting an impressive victory over Astralis at the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals, Team Liquid showed once again why it deserves the title of best CS:GO team in the world.

Following its dethroning of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) powerhouse Astralis as the number one team in the world, Team Liquid was looking to continue to cement its status as the best CS:GO team in the current landscape of the popular esports scene with another victory over Astralis in their ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals match on Friday, June 21st. This battle to be the very best in all of CS:GO set up a truly exciting match for fans to spectate, and it did not disappoint. 

Team Liquid vs Astralis - ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals

The battle of CS:GO giants began with Astralis collecting a 16-12 victory over Team Liquid on Overpass. While Astralis looked poised to secure their revenge against Team Liquid, the North American team was able to bounce back in strong fashion and take a dominant 16-6 win over the Danish squad on Inferno to tie the best-of-three series at one game a piece. This victory by Team Liquid set up a winner take all match on Vertigo where Team Liquid was able to once again show why it is currently ranked as the number one team in the world with a clutch 16-13 victory. 

This 2-1 win by Team Liquid sealed the fate of Astralis and eliminated who many believe to be the very best CS:GO team to ever play from the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals. With the win, Team Liquid will now face mousesports in the tournament's semi-finals. The winner of this semi-finals match will then face the winner of the semi-finals match between G2 Esports and NRG Esports for the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals championship. 

With another impressive victory over Astralis on its resume, Team Liquid is prepared to secure the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals championship and continue the current golden age of North American CS:GO.
