With Day 2 of groups in the books, we finally know who will be advancing to the elimination tournament, and who will be packing up their wheels and heading home early.

Over the course of the last two days, the Prudential Center in New Jersey has played home to some of the best Rocket League the world has to offer. This comes to mark the World Championship for Season 7 of the Rocket League Championship Series where the greatest teams from regions all over the world gather to claim the World Championship title.

Through two days of Group-Stage play, there aren’t many surprises come time to make cuts for the playoff bracket. We started with four groups of three, and teams were tasked with playing each of the two other teams in their group once. With eight spots available in the playoffs, only the bottom team in each group would be sent packing from the tournament.

Without any drama, none of the groups came to a tie-breaker or needed any extra play in order to be decided. All those eliminated today wound up with 0-2 records against their groups. Brazil’s INTZ departs from Group A where they lost to both NRG Esports and Paris Saint Germain. Even though they leave the Season 7 Worlds early, it’s a big move for a Brazilian squad to even qualify for the tournament.

Other teams eliminated on Saturday were Lowkey Esports, Renegades (who had the toughest group of all), and Ground Zero Gaming of the Oceania region. Now, only eight teams remain.

Playoff Bracket

The Quarterfinals will take place first thing on Championship Sunday in New Jersey and will consist of four best-of-five series. Afterward, the bracket will shift to a Semifinals and Grand Finals which will both be best-of-seven match-ups.

Teams vying for the championship may have 19 total games on Championship Sunday, so strap in and fuel up because we may be looking at a long day of awesome Rocket League action.
