A long and hard-fought journey saw two of the greatest Rocket League squads playing a single best-of-five for ultimate RLCS glory.

Even though both Renault Vitality and G2 Esports swept their opponents in the Semifinals, it would be Vitality that took control of the Grand Finals and unfortunately, G2 didn’t have enough gas in the tanks to come back from a large deficit.

The highly anticipated series was the culmination of an entire season’s worth of effort, and an intense weekend filled with trials and tribulations. Heading into the match-up, it was pretty hard to call one way or the other.

When the countdown struck zero and the first face-off came to a head, the tension and excitement in the packed arena were palpable. The awesome crowd in New Jersey, who just beat the world record for longest wave, were electric all weekend long.

Even though G2 Esports would be able to take Game 4 after dropping the first four games or the series, it would be Renault Vitality that would take the Rocket League Season 7 World Championship in Game 5 with an epic goal in extra time.

It was the rookie sensation and fan-favorite Scrub Killa that would steal the hearts of the audience, and win the Grand Finals MVP award.

In his very first eligible year, Killa would help his team claim the ultimate in Rocket League prizes, and raises that trophy over his head.

Taking home the hardware, and a big cheque for $200,000, Renault Vitality truly put on a show on Championship Sunday. They swept the reigning champions, and the almost swept the tournament favorites in G2 Esports in the Grand Finals.

Next up for competitive Rocket League is the tournament during Dreamhack Valencia in just a few weeks.

Keep it tied to Twin Galaxies for all of the biggest and best news from the Rocket League world.
