Tetris Royale is a newly announced battle royale game that will bring the 1-vs-All nature of Tetris 99 to mobile devices later this year.

If you have had a chance to play and enjoy Tetris 99 since its launch earlier in 2019, you’re going to have a new way to play that style of the classic block dropper soon. The Tetris Company has announced a collaboration with N3TWORK to bring a new game, Tetris Royale, to mobile devices, starting with a Beta later in 2019.

Tetris Royale was announced via N3TWORK and the Tetris Company on June 28, 2019. The game is slated for Android and iOS devices. It was announced alongside a multi-year partnership between the two entities that may mean further games beyond that of simply Tetris Royale.

Though little has been shown past a logo as of yet, meaning no screenshots or video as of this writing, the main feature of Tetris Royale is going to be very similar to that of Tetris 99 which came exclusively to Nintendo Switch in February 2019. Players will be able to engage in 100-player competitive modes, playing in real-time and aiming to win out over all competitors. Seasonal leaderboards will offer ongoing competition as each player vies for their place among the bunch.

In addition to the 100-player battle royale mode, Tetris Royale will also have other single and multiplayer opportunities. These include a solo marathon mode and daily challenges that will allow players to earn various rewards, such as customization options and in-game power-ups. The presence of power-ups and boosters also point to the likelihood of a in-game monetization system, though it still remains to be seen what this will look like.

While no official release window has been offered for Tetris Royale as this writing, a Beta has been confirmed, which will take place sometime in late 2019. You can keep an eye out for when the Beta opens by paying attention N3TWORK’s Twitter and also the official Tetris Twitter.

Stay tuned and be ready for an all-new and easy way to compete in Tetris!
