After a wild weekend of NBA free agency, the league's most popular virtual representative decided to get into the news breaking business on its own! Early Monday morning, NBA 2K community manager Ronnie "Ronnie 2K" Singh announced that Lakers center Anthony Davis and newly-retired Miami Heat guard Dwayne Wade would be the cover stars of NBA 2K20. Davis will star in a nondescript uniform on the normal and digital deluxe versions, while Wade will grace the Legend Edition cover in the Miami Vice jerseys - probably the best fit in the entire league.

Davis continues a string of 2K cover stars who have switched teams since appearing on the cover. Davis was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans, where he played 7 season before forcing his way to the Lakers this summer. Wade played most of his stellar 16-year career on South Beach, with short stints in his hometown Chicago and Cleveland. Wade retired this year.

New to this year's 2K series game is the introduction of WNBA teams to the game. The NBA Live series has featured WNBA players for the past few seasons, but it's about time the top dog in virtual basketball features the women's league. No word yet on if 2K will include a WNBA franchise mode, something Live has noticeably lacked. We'll also get to see our first virtual glimpse of Davis' replacement in New Orleans, Duke forward Zion Williamson.
So far, that's about all we have on the 2K news - but stay tuned! There will no doubt be more news coming, especially about 2K League.
