Don't try this at home. Shroud was on stream during one of the recent earthquakes that rocked California.

Michael "shroud" Grzesiek is nothing if not dedicated to gaming and streaming. He did after all come back from an ugly scooter accident that damaged his dominant arm pretty badly. That said, he inadvertently had another moment in which, for better or worse, he continued to stream under some distressing conditions. During the recent earthquake that shook the Mojave Desert and parts of Southern California, shroud experienced a bit of the earthquake and still decided to play through with his squad.

The stream took place on July 5, 2019 on shroud’s Twitch channel. At about 8:20PM PST, an earthquake registering 7.1 on the Richter scale struck the Mojave Desert. Nearby areas felt the quake and, in fact, shroud caught a few seconds of the quake on stream. As he and his squad were queuing up for an Apex Legends match, the quake caught shroud and his fellow players’ collective attentions. For a moment, you could even see everything shaking in shroud’s office. A clip of the moment can be seen below. (NSFW: The clip contains course language throughout.)

It was certainly notable to see the shaking of everything in shroud’s visible area as it occurred. Thankfully the quake only affected shroud and company for a handful of seconds before they got back into the game. They would go on to win the match and stream for quite a few hours longer. The quake was the largest of several other quakes to hit the Southern California and Las Vegas regions over the holiday weekend.

Though shroud didn’t appear to be in any danger thankfully, it should go without saying that one shouldn’t be too careful with earthquakes and the like. We’re happy to see shroud and likely others around were safe and able to go about their business after the quakes passed. Would you be stalwart enough to play through such a situation?
