After the wild weekend that was the Atlanta Homestand, the entirety of Stage 3 regular play is behind us. This means, that despite some teams best efforts, the line in the sand has been drawn. It’s been a bit of a crazy trip through Stage 3 of the 2019 Overwatch League season, and we think it’s going to make for a pretty intense playoff.
Firstly, the Vancouver Titans lost their first regular-season game in franchise history and the Stage 2 Champions San Francisco Shock dropped two matches after completing a perfect stage. More surprising than the best teams losing games are the teams that won games in Stage 3.
Making the playoffs are teams like the Los Angeles Valiant, the Houston Outlaws, and the Shanghai Dragons. All of those teams have once--very recently--been considered among the worst in the league.

With all of the hype surrounding some of these first-year or reignited teams, it’s no wonder that plenty of mock brackets coming out online so far have seen an unexpected team win the Stage 3 Championship.
