Shortly before midnight last night on Thursday, July 18th, North American League Championship Series star top-laner for Team Liquid got into a car accident as a passenger in an Uber trip. Just minutes after tweeting about the accident Jeong “Impact” Eon Young shared photos of himself wearing a neck-brace with the caption “Top Alive” as a nod to the in-game communication used by pro League of Legends players.

The South Korean top-laner has been playing in North America since the middle of the 2016 season, and has recently been a part of one of the most dominant teams in all of North American League of Legends. In the top lane, Impact has been a crucial portion of the Team Liquid reign, who are currently in the middle of a back-to-back-to-back LCS Championship run.

Impact reminds his 120,000 fans that life is fragile and to not neglect the wearing of one’s seat belt. The other party involved in the accident were also among the League of Legends pro’s fans. A friend of Impact’s reached out post-crash and shared a message from the other person involved in the accident.

With the start of a new week tomorrow in the LCS, it’s unclear yet how bad Impact’s injury actually is. As a professional esports athlete that is always laughing and making jokes, it’s hard to gauge the seriousness of the crash on his tweets alone. Neither the organization of Impact himself has made a statement regarding his potential to be out of the line-up for Team Liquid’s game tomorrow against Clutch Gaming.
