TSM Steals Victory While Guardians Not Watching Their Map

TSM also managed to steal away two Baron kills in a row from the Golden Guardians, who looked like they were very much in the lead all game long.

It was a head-to-head match-up that brought all the surprises on Saturday at the League Championship Series arena in Los Angeles. Many saw a recently surging Team SoloMid to steamroll a less-than confident Golden Guardians team that just hasn’t been able to maintain the momentum they built up at the beginning of the 2019 Summer Split.

However, it was almost all gold in the early stages. Through the first twenty to twenty-five minutes, it was TSM playing from behind in a match that maybe they underestimated a little bit. Even after TSM’s Smoothie stole the first Baron away from the Golden Guardians, there was something missing from their engagements and teamfights, something that would have cost them the game.

Unfortunately for Golden Guardians, their second attempt at a Baron power play was also stolen away by TSM, this time by jungler Akaadian. To make matters worse, TSM didn’t really want the Baron. Instead, it was all just a distraction to allow their young and wickedly talented top-laner BrokenBlade to teleport into the Golden Guardian base, and take out the Guardians’ Nexus.

The sneaky play may have been TSM’s last and only hope to steal away the victory. Or, it may have been the result of one too many mistakes while holding the lead, from the Golden Guardians. Either way, it was a surprising match, with a few big Baron steals, and an epic last-ditch game-saving play.

Next up for TSM is their matchup against a falling-off OpTic Gaming who started the split off really strong only to slip from the top of the standings. As for the Golden Guardians, they will surely pay more attention to their minimap tomorrow where they will play the league-leading Team Liquid. Day 2 of Week 7 in the LCS will start Sunday, July 21st at 12:00 Noon Pacific Time.
