The GG Podcast Talks Echo Fox LCS Sale & Remembers Geoff Robinson

On the latest episode of The GG Podcast, Rick and Kyle Fox speak candidly on feelings surrounding the Echo Fox LCS slot sale, plus the crew honors the passing of StarCraft and competitive gaming legend Geoff "iNcontroL" Robinson.

Today’s episode of The GG Podcast runs short, but has a lot of heart. Immediately following the announcement of of Echo Fox’s LCS slot, there’s a lot of feelings to get through. For those who have been confused about where Rick Fox stands on the sale of such an important part of the Echo Fox League of Legends team, this episode puts a lot on its sleeve.

Rick Fox comes right out of the gate at the rumors of Echo Fox seeking a sale of their League of Legends LCS spot to the Kroenke Sports & Entertainment Group for $30.25 million, the organization of which also owns the LA Gladiators Overwatch League team. The sale comes in the aftermath of pressure from Riot to force a certain investor who had come under criticism for racist statements out of Echo Fox. Rick goes on record to clear up a little bit of the misinformation going around on the situation.

The Foxes also take some time to speak to the origin of Echo Fox as well as Jace Hall’s involvement in helping build up the organization. It all leads up to explaining the current ownership system of Echo Fox, clarifying some of what forced the Echo Fox LCS slot sale to happen. With the sale having taken place officially just before the recording of the podcast, Rick Fox shares raw emotion on the matter.

“I feel numb,” Rick admits. “I feel angry. I feel attacked. I feel accused. I feel unheard. I feel angry. I feel disrespected. I feel sad. I feel confused. I feel blind-sided. I feel exhausted. I feel exasperated.”

Despite all of this, Rick states that none of those feelings are on the part of the fans and Echo Fox faithful, who he maintains have been awesome. Kyle Fox also steps in to share that it’s not all doom and gloom.

“I feel relieved,” Kyle shared. “This situation has been a five-year wonderful experience, but it’s also been a mountain of stress.”

Finally, the podcast speaks to the untimely passing of Geoff "iNcontroL" Robinson, who was a personality, commentator, and legend in the StarCraft community. The GG Podcast pays respects to iNcontroL’s contribution to gaming and the competitive community.
