With Terminator T-800 arriving first to MK11 on October 8.

Update: The official reveal of Joker and the Terminator as upcoming characters for Mortal Kombat 11 has now been posted on the Mortal Kombat YouTube channel. We don't get to see them in action but it's still a pretty stylish trailer as each character walks in from the dark. Check it out below:

A leaked promo image for Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack 1 reveals Joker and Terminator as upcoming DLC characters.

The full suite of characters for Mortal Kombat 11’s DLC Kombat Pack 1 is due to be released later today in a new trailer, but the roster appears to have leaked early thanks to a promotional image. Joining Shang Tsung, Nightwolf and the previously announced Sindel, Kombat Pack 1 will also introduce Terminator and Joker along with the much-anticipated Spawn.

Given NetherRealm’s previous work on the Injustice series, the inclusion of Joker makes perfect sense. We’re interested to see what style he’ll take in Mortal Kombat 11, given the propensity for over-the-top violence. Terminator, on the other hand, makes for a surprise addition. The older T-800 Schwarzenegger design and release date of October 8 mean this is certainly set to tie-in with the Terminator: Dark Fate movie due to release on October 25. The Terminator is certainly beefy, but will his tendency to use guns in the film set him up as a primarily ranged character in MK11?

The leak also includes release dates for each character. We’ll need to wait until the official trailer goes live later today for these to be confirmed, but it looks they’ll be arriving every few months until March. What’s most surprising is that Spawn and Sindel — both already teased heavily — won’t be the next characters coming to Mortal Kombat 11. Here’s the full list of leaked release dates:

  • Terminator T-800: October 8
  • Sindel: November 26
  • Joker: January 28
  • Spawn: March 17

Those hoping for a nearer release date for Spawn following his announcement will no doubt be a little miffed that he’s still seven months away, but it doesn’t look like MK11 will be hurting for content in the meantime. Of course, it’s worth restating that these dates are all based on one leaked image. While we don’t doubt the characters are coming, there’s always the chance that the dates have been shifted around. Keep an eye on the Mortal Kombat 11 YouTube account for the official reveal later today.
