ReKTGlobal, the esports group behind Rogue, has secured a London franchise spot in Call of Duty World League's 2020 competitive season.

Good news on the ReKTGlobal front as the organization behind Rogue has acquired a Call of Duty franchise spot. It costs a pretty penny to be in the new system that Activision and Call of Duty are setting up for the future of the franchises competition, but it would appear that London Call of Duty will be representing ReKTGlobal when the 2020 season of Call of Duty World League kicks off next year.

ReKTGlobal announced their acquisition of a Call of Duty spot in a press release on September 13, 2019, and the formation of the London COD Twitter came online soon after, confirming the acquisition. In addition to ReKT’s secured spot, NRG has claimed a spot in Chicago and the Vancouver Titans have claimed a spot in Seattle. With these 3 additions, the overall teams in the new Call of Duty World League set-up comes to 12 teams.

As pointed out by esports consultant Rod Breslau, the spots currently represented in the new CWL are as follows:

  • Chicago
  • Seattle
  • London
  • Atlanta
  • Dallas
  • Florida
  • Los Angeles
  • Los Angeles (2)
  • Minnesota
  • New York
  • Paris
  • Toronto

Despite this, not everyone has been able to take part in the new formation of the Call of Duty World League. 100 Thieves owner and CEO Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag recently went on video to explain that the price tag was too high and the 100 Thieves org would not be taking part in Call of Duty Esports in 2020.

Regardless, the roster seems to still be shaping up to host some worthwhile competition. With Rogue doing well in many other games, including Apex Legends and League of Legends, it will be interesting to see what they put together in the 2020 Call of Duty esports season.

Stay tuned for the latest on the new Call of Duty World League as it continues to develop.
