If you think your favorite Mortal Kombat 11's character's arsenal is lacking in Ranked, maybe a third variation will help? We're about to hear about them in an upcoming Kombat Kast.

In Mortal Kombat 11 Ranked online and live tournament play, each character has access to just two variations, which can be a problem if the arsenal in either variation isn’t very good. NetherRealm probably won’t admit any character is lacking, but they’re at least interested in giving players more ways to use their characters. New third variations are coming to every character in Mortal Kombat 11.

Mortal Kombat 11 announced the new variations on September 24, 2019. In a tease for the new Kombat Kast on Wednesday, September 25, NetherRealm confirmed that the main subjects of the new Kast would be the new variations and a new game mode coming to Mortal Kombat 11. It’s unknown when the new variations will be coming to Mortal Kombat 11 at the time of this writing. That said, you can catch the Kombat Kast featuring the third variations and game mode in its entirety below.

The two variations in ranked and tournament play have been a constant source of debate in the Mortal Kombat community for some time. Some characters like Cassie Cage and Erron Black debatably have everything they need in the two. However, characters like Kotal Kahn and Kano have arguably missing pieces to their arsenal that make them unable to compete on as high of a level as the rest of the cast. Hopefully, by adding a third variation, we could see the tiers of Mortal Kombat 11 shift a bit as characters will have more tools and movesets for players to use. That… or it could skew the roster and the strong could get stronger with even better variations than they had before.

Either way, it’s sure to make players happy who have wanted to go with a certain character, but found their current available movesets lacking. Which Mortal Kombat 11 character are you most excited to try new variations with?
