Rogue operator ReKTGlobal continues to grow as Utah Jazz Center Rudy Gobert becomes the latest to invest in the esports group.

Esports organization ReKTGlobal has been doing fairly well for itself with recent acquirements like the London slot in the 2020 Call of Duty season, but another recent high-profile pick-up puts their foot firmly in the door of traditional sports as well. The group which has Rogue and star streamer DrLupo under their umbrella just announced that NBA player and Utah Jazz Center Rudy Gobert has officially invested in ReKTGlobal.

The formal announcement was made via Rogue on Twitter and the Rogue website. Rudy Gobert joins the investment circle in ReKT alongside the notable company of musical stars Steve Aoki and Imagine Dragons, as well as DJ Nicky Romero and Latin music producer Tainy. In addition to capturing the award of Defensive Player of the Year twice in the NBA, Gobert also plays in international events with the French basketball team.

ReKTGlobal co-founder Amish Shah was thrilled to welcome the traditional sports experience and gaming enthusiasm of Gobert into the ReKT circle.

“Rudy’s a phenomenal fit for ReKTGlobal,” commented Shah. “A passionate and longtime gamer, Rudy also brings a strong business acumen and fresh ideas to the table. As he’s been wanting to invest in esports and get more involved in the gaming industry, we are honored that he selected ReKTGlobal to partner with, and we are excited to have him on board as our first traditional professional sports athlete.”

Gobert himself also expressed enthusiasm for the partnership as he readies to be a part of livestreams and upcoming ReKT content.

“My passion for gaming is well-known among both the Utah Jazz and my team in France. I’ve wanted to invest in and get more involved in esports for a while, and I’m really excited to make history with the ReKTGlobal family,” said Gobert. “For years now, I’ve used gaming to unwind and relax during the season. It’s also how I manage to keep up with my friends when I’m on the road. I’m especially looking forward to playing with the new Call of Duty franchise team before they begin competing next year.”

Gobert’s involvement with ReKTGlobal comes on the heels of the group acquiring a slot in the Call of Duty 2020 season. Representing London, ReKTGlobal is set to be a part of the action when the new franchise system launches. ReKT also bolstered its ranks with partnerships with Fortnite star Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo and Team Dignitas founder and former owner Michael “ODEE” O’Dell. That’s not including the fact that ReKT operates the Rogue esports team, who play prominently in League of Legends, Rocket League, FIFA, Apex Legends, and more.

As Rudy Gobert makes his official entrance into the gaming space with ReKTGlobal, he’s in good company.
